To use the King-Devick Variable Color Contrast Sensitivity Chart for AMD, you need to have an active subscription. Subscriptions are handled through the iOS App Store and require you to be signed into your device with an Apple ID. Additional help on how to sign into your Apple ID can be found here.

  1. After opening the app, you will be prompted to subscribe if you are a new user. Tap Subscribe.

    Tip: If you are a returning user tap the Have an Account? Sign in button and enter your username and password.

  2. Next you will be asked if you know your best near Visual Acuity number (NVA). If you do not have this information, we recommend contacting your eye doctor. Alternatively, you can email yourself an eye chart to determine your NVA by tapping No, and then Free Eye Chart. The app will then use the e-mail account signed in on your device to send you an eye chart and instructions. It may also be downloaded here.

  3. If you do know your NVA, tap Yes and then enter it for the left and right eyes respectively. gif of registering NVA

  4. Tap Subscribe again and complete the on-screen prompts to approve the purchase.

  5. You will be asked to create an account. Enter your e-mail address and password to complete the registration. Tab Submit when you are finished.
